SuperSkills Occupational Work Supervision NVQ Courses are delivered using the On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) route. See details here. The programme will usually take about three months and all the training will take place in the workplace.
The qualification covers a wide range of skills and trades. It has three parts, two groups of Mandatory Units and one group of Optional Units.
The first Mandatory Unit is evidence of the Candidate’s trade skill (at least Level 2) in one of the construction trades. The way we evidence this is by seeing your relevant NVQ at Level 2. The qualification must be contained in the CSCS Occupational Work Supervision NVQ Endorsement List. You can see that here. There are other ways of getting the evidence, you can ask your assessor’s advice about how we may be able to get it.
The Second Group of Mandatory Units are:
Confirming the Occupational Method of Work in the Workplace
Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area in the Workplace
Co-ordinating and organising work operations in the workplace
Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
Implementing and maintaining health, safety, environmental and welfare practices in the workplace
Monitoring progress of work against schedules in the workplace
The Optional Units are:
Allocating and monitoring the use of plant, machinery, equipment or vehicles in the workplace
Confirming work meets contractual, industry and manufacturers’ standards in the workplace
Co-ordinating and confirming the dimensional control requirements of the work in the workplace
Implementing procedures to support team performance in the workplace
To get the Gold CSCS Card, you need to have the Occupational Work Supervision NVQ Level 3 Diploma and the “endorsement” referred to above. The Construction Skills Certification Scheme have also issued guidance to assist applicants. This includes:
There is an Appeals process for people who cannot provide the specified documentation – see here.
Please note – the previous version of this card had “Supervisor” on the front, but this is no longer the case. Your qualification will be shown on the back.
SuperSkills has an “Easy Payment” scheme to pay for your NVQ. Just ask for details.
