1. Who is the Carpentry NVQ Level 2 suitable for?

This qualification is designed for experienced site carpenters who are already working in the trade and need formal recognition of their competence. Most candidates have at least 12 months’ on-site experience.


2. I already have a Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry – why won’t CSCS accept it?

A college diploma confirms training. CSCS requires proof of occupational competence. The NVQ Level 2 is assessed in your workplace against National Occupational Standards, which is why it is accepted for a Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card.


3. Will the Carpentry NVQ Level 2 allow me to get a Blue CSCS Card?

Yes. Completing this NVQ allows you to apply for a Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card, subject to passing the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test.


4. How is the NVQ Level 2 assessed?

Assessment is carried out remotely around your normal working day. Evidence is gathered from your own site work and reviewed by your assessor through structured discussion and feedback.


5. What evidence will I need to provide?
