What SuperSkills does
SuperSkills assesses the skills and experience of construction workers across a range of trades, helping them achieve National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).
The assessment evidence must come from work being carried out in the workplace. However, to reduce inconvenience, travel and cost for our candidates, most of the assessment process is managed remotely using mobile phones and computers.
SuperSkills specialises in Level 2 Skilled Worker and Level 3 Advanced Craft qualifications. These qualifications can support applications for Blue or Gold Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards, depending on the qualification achieved and the candidate’s occupation.
We also provide a wide range of online construction health and safety training courses.
Most of our assessment activity takes place in the United Kingdom. However, our remote assessment methods may also allow candidates working elsewhere in the world to access our services, provided their work and evidence meet the requirements of the relevant qualification.
Qualifications and quality assurance
SuperSkills is an approved centre with NOCN, centre number 33069, and is authorised to assess and deliver a range of regulated construction qualifications.
NOCN acquired Cskills Awards from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) in August 2017. For several years, its construction qualifications were promoted under the NOCN_Cskills Awards name. The awarding organisation and the qualification certificates issued to successful candidates now use the name NOCN.
NOCN is an awarding organisation regulated in England by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). This means its regulated qualifications must meet nationally controlled standards. Qualifications may also be accepted elsewhere in the United Kingdom and overseas, although recognition outside England depends on the requirements of the relevant employer, industry body or national authority.
The Construction Industry Training Board works with employers and the wider construction industry to help develop and maintain standards and qualifications. These industry-agreed standards set out the skills, knowledge and competence that candidates must demonstrate.
SuperSkills is a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO) and is listed in the CITB Construction Training Directory. This status confirms that SuperSkills has agreed to provide construction training and qualifications in accordance with defined, industry-agreed standards.
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) sets the qualification requirements for the cards it issues. For most skilled construction occupations, a relevant Level 2 National Vocational Qualification supports an application for a Blue Skilled Worker card. A relevant Level 3 qualification supports an application for a Gold Advanced Craft card.
Candidates must also meet any other requirements that apply to their particular CSCS card, including the relevant health, safety and environment test where required.
